Milk is an excellent source of calcium and protein. The nutritious beverage is often derived from cows. However, recent studies reveal a shocking truth about cow’s milk. It can mess up your hormones in a lot of ways, making it one of the hormone-killing foods you should never eat.
Cows raised in industrial farms are the worst source of milk since they contain antibiotics, pesticides, and steroids. But scientists would agree that even organic milk is not healthy for consumption. Irrespective of the circumstances, cow’s milk contains more than 60 different hormones which can wreak havoc on the human body.
One of the hormones naturally found in cow’s milk is insulin-growth factor or IG1. Exposure to IG1 will raise your insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar. An increase in insulin causes sugar cravings, overeating, and even acne. Estrogen, another hormone in cow’s milk, will increase the estrogen levels in your body. Meanwhile, its androgenic properties will also raise your testosterone. The surge in both estrogen and testosterone will cause mood swings and increase your risk for certain cancers.
No matter what nutritionists tell you, ditch cow’s milk and switch to healthier sources of calcium and protein.
