2014 was the year of high-intensity interval training or HIIT, what could be this year’s top fitness trend? Below is our list of fitness trends for 2015:

Weight Training

Topping off our list of emerging fitness trends for 2015 is an oldie but still a goodie: weight training! Weight training is an excellent way to stay for fit, especially busybodies who are always on the move. And the reason why it’s so popular for people on the go is it can be incorporated to normal, daily activities such as watching TV or brushing the teeth. From lunging to planking, pushup to squats, all these weight-training moves are easy and effective.

HIIT or High-Intensity Interval Training

Last year, every gym and fitness studio was all about HIIT. This year, HIIT is taking the backseat. Doesn’t mean it’s still not popular among gymgoers. HIIT requires alternating short but intense bursts of activities, followed by periods of rest or low-intensity move. The great thing about this workout? You can complete one session in 30 minutes or less!

Advice from Fitness Professionals

This year, working with a trainer is no longer enough to stay fit. Most gym goers now prefer working out under the supervision of a certified fitness professional! As the fitness industry grows, more gymgoers are learning the importance of following the guidance of an accredited coach. That’s why the number of certified fitness experts is on the rise as well!

Strength Training

Strength training is a part of a balanced workout regimen because it develops a powerful physique. But its benefits go beyond the gym. Studies show that strength training presents a lot of benefits to the brain! This routine has the ability to uplift the mood, improve confidence and boost memory too!

Customized Training

There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all concept in working out. Every body is different. That means a certain routine may work for some but not for others. The need for personal training gave way to customized fitness programs. The great thing about a customized program is it allows a gym goer to achieve his fitness goals faster. That’s because every exercise within the program is tailored to meet a person’s goals. Sure, customized training is more expensive than going willy-nilly in the gym, but it’s one trend we can all get behind on!

Yoga

Yet another consistent chart-topper, yoga remains a popular fitness routine this year. Apart from improving flexibility and strength, yoga also calms the mind and boosts the mood. It even corrects the posture and improves bone health!

Finally, 2015 is the year of customized fitness programs for aging individuals! Studies show that continuous exercising, even among seniors, delays the signs of aging. Working out reduces muscle pain, joint problems and while improving agility and bone health. It doesn’t matter if you’re 17 or 70, a healthy diet and regular exercise is the best way to feeling and looking young and strong.

Group Personal Training

Why work out alone when your friends can join your training and make exercising a lot more fun? Training with friends and loved ones work for people who are prone to missing a class or two. When you’re with friends, you are being held accountable for every class you miss. Exercising with friends is also a great way to stay motivated!
