Got flaky, lackluster skin? You need a good exfoliating mask, stat! But don’t run to the nearest beauty counter. You can make your own exfoliating mask and save more money! Unlike a face scrub, an exfoliating mask is milder, kinder on the skin! In today’s post, we are giving you exfoliating mask recipes to try at home:

Honey and Baking Soda Exfoliating Mask

Honey will hydrate dry skin and minimizes inflammation while baking soda effectively sloughs off dead skin cells.

You will need:

3 tablespoons baking soda
2 tablespoons organic or raw honey
2 vitamin E soft capsule

Instructions

In a clean bowl, mix everything to make a loose paste. Then with a needle, pierce the vitamin E soft capsule to extract the essence. Mix everything well then apply on freshly-cleansed face. Leave the mask on for at least 20 minutes. To remove the mask, just wet your fingers with water then gently massage the face in a circular motion. Rinse with tepid water then follow up with a moisturizer.

Milk and Oatmeal Exfoliating Mask

Milk contains lactic acid, which gently melt dead skin cells while oatmeal hydrates the skin.

You will need:

1 tablespoon oatmeal powder
2 tablespoon full cream milk
¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder

Instructions:

Mix everything in a clean bowl until you get a smooth paste. Apply the paste on freshly-cleansed face. Leave the mask for at least 20 minutes. To remove the mask, massage the skin with wet fingers in a gentle, circular motion. Now rinse the mask with tepid water then follow up with a facial serum after.

Rice Flour and Green Tea Exfoliating Mask

Rice flour will gently lift skin flakes and uncover the younger-looking skin within. Green tea will invigorate and improve blood circulation while injecting antioxidants and nutrients into the skin.

You will need:

1 green tea bag
1 tablespoon fine rice flour

Instructions:

In half a cup of boiling water, steep a bag of green tea for at least 15 minutes. Let the fluid cool to room temperature. Then, mix a tablespoon of rice flour into the liquid. Massage the mixture on freshly-cleansed face. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes then rinse with tepid water.

Orange and Coffee Exfoliating Mask

Orange will lift dead skin cells while restoring the skin’s luminosity with vitamin C. Coffee will boost circulation for a rosy, luminous glow. The invigorating scent of coffee and orange will perk up the senses too!

You will need:

2 tablespoon orange juice
1 tablespoon coffee ground

Instructions:

In a clean bowl, incorporate the two ingredients to make a paste. You can add more orange juice to adjust the consistency of the mix. Apply the mixture on freshly-cleansed face and leave on for at least 20 minutes. Then, give yourself a facial massage by gently massaging the mask on the skin. The mask will detox the pores while scrubbing off dead skin cells. Rinse with tepid water then apply a moisturizer after cleansing.

Brown Sugar and Yogurt Exfoliating Mask

Yogurt contains friendly bacteria and lactic acid that will restore rosiness into the skin. Sugar will gently slough off dead skin cells.

You will need:

1 tablespoon plain yogurt
1 teaspoon brown sugar

Instructions:

Mix the ingredients in a clean bowl until you get a loose paste. Apply on clean face and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Give yourself a 5-minute face massage before rinsing off with tepid water.
