Poor diet, environmental pollutants, and product buildup are three of the main causes of skin breakout. Purge the skin by treating yourself to an at-home skin detox!
Detoxing the skin helps reduce breakouts and improve the texture of the skin. It can remove deep-seated dirt, boost circulation and refine the skin! The good news is, you don’t need to get an expensive spa treatment to purge the skin. In today’s post, we are listing down simple, at-home treatments that purge the skin effectively:
1. Dry Brushing
Dry brushing is an excellent way to drain the lymphatic system, boost the circulation and release toxins from the body. It also sloughs off dead skin cells and tones the muscles for a smoother, cellulite-free skin!
Dry brushing is as easy as pie too. Just get a brush made from natural fibers with a long handle. Before taking a shower or a bath, brush the body upper slowly, working gradually towards the lower body. Use gentle, circular strokes toward the heart. Focus on parts of the body where the skin is thick, like the soles of the feet, knees, and the butt. Dry brush the skin regularly and you will definitely see a different in your skin.
2. Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is a skin-safe chemical that kills germs and injects oxygen to the skin. It will also purge the skin effectively! There are two ways to use hydrogen peroxide to detoxify the skin. You can add two capfuls of 35% hydrogen peroxide to your bath water for a relaxing soak. You can also transfer 3% hydrogen peroxide in a spritz bottle and apply liberally all over the body. Treat your skin to a hydrogen peroxide detox and your pores will clear up in no time at all!
3. Natural Clay
Natural, cosmetic-grade clay is a mineral-rich soil that will suck up oil, dry out pimples and reinvigorate the body. The nutrients in clay are also absorbed by the skin. Clay will also detoxify the liver and drain the lymphatic system. Medicinal clay is so mild, it’s safe enough to use on the face!
To use clay to keep the skin clean and blemish-free, just wet a cup of dry clay with distilled water. Mix the ingredients together to create a paste with a consistency similar to that of ice cream. Now, apply a thin layer of the mask on the face and all over the body. Leave on for at least 15 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
4. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is made with fermented apples that’s why it’s packed with skin-friendly nutrients. Because it’s mildly acidic, apple cider vinegar will literally melt sebum, tone the skin and clear clogged pores!
For a detoxifying soak, add two cups of organic, raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar to your bath water. Add a cup of Epsom salt and let it dissolve. Soak in the solution for at least 20 minutes. Apple cider vinegar and Epsom salt work together to draw toxins away from the body and boost the cleansing process of the skin!
5. Drink More Water
If you don’t have time for a detox treatment at home, you can get the same effects by drinking more water every day. Water helps flush out toxins in the intestines and liver. It also hydrates the skin, preventing dryness and breakouts! We recommend drinking two liters of water every day for best results.
