Cellulite is the unsightly deposit of fat just under the skin. It gives the skin a dimpled, orange-peel appearance. Unfortunately, there are no creams available in the market that can completely eliminate cellulite. However, you can use coffee grounds to minimize its appearance.
You can use the grounds on their own or mix it with honey or ginger extract to create a simple scrub. Moisten the skin and scrub the grounds directly. Scrubbing improves circulation, it will draw water from the skin. This will give the skin a firmer, evened out appearance.
2. Body Exfoliator
Exfoliating should be an important part of your skin care regimen. Apart from revealing the younger-looking skin underneath, it also evens out the skin tone. Regular exfoliation also fades out blemishes and pimple scars and refines the skin texture.
Instead of a store-bought body scrub, use coffee grounds. You can use it alone or mixed with a little olive or extra virgin coconut oil. On moistened skin, gently scrub the whole body with coffee grounds. Concentrate on elbows, knees, and cellulite-prone areas. Coffee grounds will effectively slough off dead skin cells. It will rejuvenate the skin too!
3. Facial Treatment
Create an affordable yet effective facial treatment with coffee grounds. Use the grounds as a base for the mask. Just add two tablespoons of cocoa powder with equal amount of coffee grounds. Add three tablespoon of heavy cream or yogurt and a tablespoon of honey.
Slap the mixture on freshly cleansed face and leave it on for at least 20 minutes. The caffeine in coffee grounds will tighten and rejuvenate skin. The lactic acid in heavy cream or yogurt will reveal the younger skin underneath. Honey contains powerful antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It will soothe reactive skin and prevent breakouts. It will also nourish and hydrate the skin!
4. Prevents Puffy Eyes
Did you know puffiness around the eyes can lead to unsightly wrinkles? The skin around the eyes is extremely thin and fragile. Puffiness stretches the skin, loosening its elastic fibers. Once the puffiness is gone, it leaves the skin stretched out, wrinkled.
Use coffee grounds to perk the skin right up and banish puffiness. It will draw moisture away from the eyes while soothing inflamed skin. Just add enough of the stuff to cover the under eyes. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes then rinse with lukewarm water.
5. Banish Dark Circles
Dark under eyes can be caused by a variety of factors. These factors range from genetics to allergies. The caffeine in coffee grounds will minimize the appearance of under eye circles. It will also reduce inflammation and puffiness associated with dark circles. Again, just pat enough coffee grounds to cover the under eye area. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Pat dry and say hello to brighter eyes!
