A body wrap entails covering the body with a special combination of herbs, clay and essential oils to smoothen the skin and draw out excess fluids. Certain types of body wraps are made for a specific purpose. Some are made to slim down targeted areas or the whole body. Others are made to hydrate dry, flaky skin. Some body wraps are applied to eliminate cellulite. Although there is no cream or beauty product that can truly eliminate cellulite completely, body wraps help minimize the cottage cheese-like appearance of cellulite. And in today’s post, we are listing down the types of body wraps that will effectively smooth out cellulite and improve skin texture:

Herbal Body Wrap

An herbal body wrap is made of herbs that would draw out impurities and toxic buildup from the skin. These herbs are meant to drain the lymphatic system and improve the function of the capillaries. The ingredients can be tweaked to address very specific skin issues such as sensitive skin, dry skin, cellulite-ridden skin and more. Depending on the ingredients, herbal body wraps are perfect for those who want to lose water weight, eliminate cellulite or hydrate dry skin.

Herbal Clay Wrap

Herbal clay wraps combine cosmetic-grade clay and herbal concoctions into a nourishing, skin-smoothening wrap. The herbal essences are mixed with bentonite clay to draw impurities out and stimulate the lymphatic system. The clay will purge the pores, tighten the skin and minimize sagging. The herbal essences inject the skin with vitamins and antioxidants for soft, glowing texture. Slather the herbal clay all over problematic areas and leave it on for at least 20 minutes.

Exfoliating Body Wrap

Dry brushing is a traditional remedy for cellulite. You can simulate dry brushing using an exfoliating body wrap. Exfoliating body wraps are typically made with coffee grounds that slough off dead skin cells. Because coffee grounds contain caffeine, the wrap will tighten the skin, smooth out cellulite and improve blood circulation. Fruits and essential oils are added to the wrap to bring life back to the skin.

Caffeinated Herbal Wrap

Caffeinated herbal wraps are typically made of herbal tea, coffee grounds, coffee essences, and other caffeinated ingredients. These wraps work similarly to a coffee ground wrap. The herbs act as exfoliators while the caffeine tightens and smooth out the skin.

You can create your own caffeinated herbal wrap by adding two bags of tea in one and a half cup of boiling water. Let the tea steep until room temperature and dip a towel into the solution. Apply the soaked towel on cellulite-prone skin and let it sit for at least 10 minutes. If you’re feeling fancy, you can add several combinations of essential oils for a relaxing body wrap.

Citrus-Based Body Wraps

Citrus-based body wraps contain essences of oranges, lime and grapefruit that will invigorate skin! These essences can be used on their own or mixed with other nourishing ingredients like honey. Honey contains amino acids and nutrients that hydrate skin deeply.

Cocoa Herbal Wrap

Cocoa herbal wrap is an indulgent, luxurious wrap that will treat the senses while also reducing the appearance of cellulite. Just add honey, cocoa powder and your favorite caffeinated ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Apply directly on problem areas and wrap with cling wrap. Leave the body wrap on for at least 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water.
