Stuck in a style rut and dying for a change? There is something about the summer season that makes everyone crave for a change! The good news is, you don’t have to try too hard to revamp your style. If you are ready for change and you want to give your appearance an overhaul, check out our tips below:
1. Pile on the Accessories
Don’t spend a small fortune on clothes when you want to give your style a revamp. Instead of buying new threads, learn the subtle art of accessorizing! The right accessories can make even the most boring outfit runway-ready! The key is to choose accessories that you can wear every day. Resist the temptation of getting trendy pieces that you cannot maximize. For instance, a fabulous handbag works as an anchor that “pulls” your whole look together. Get a nice but inexpensive bag in a bold hue! Pair it up with a gorgeous pair of earrings or a cuff bracelet to polish your look.
2. Experiment with Your Hair
A dye job does wonders to the face when done right. Choosing the right color will brighten the face and even contour your crowning glory. You can also try the trendy rainbow color hair if you are feeling extra adventurous.
But if you do not have five hours to spare for a dye job at the local salon, you can try flipping your hair to the opposite side to create a new look. Parting your hair to the other side pumps up the volume to the roots. This trick works great if you do not want to get your hair trimmed or spend money on professional treatments. Finally, you can also wear cool pins (or even make your own!) to give your entire look a boost. Most hairpins are inexpensive and come in an array of designs and colors to choose from!
3. A Bold Lip
Tired of neutrals? Although we would kill for the perfect nude lipstick, it is fun to wear a bold lip occasionally. Depending on your skin tone, the perfect red lipstick will brighten the face and make the teeth appear whiter. A bold lipstick also draws the attention to the mouth! Deeper hues like berry and plum make a great alternative to a true red if you are not comfortable with such an intimidating shade.
4. Get a Manicure
Dirty, unkempt nails are not a great look. If you want to give your new you a fresh start, begin by keeping your nails trimmed, clean, and polished. You’d be surprised at how a simple manicure can change your style!
If you want to go for sweet n’ sassy, we recommend frosty and crème shades of light to bright pinks! If you want to go bold, turn to metallic, glitters, and holographic in bright and deep shades. We also love modern nail color hues like pale grays, robin egg blue, or warm, brownish-beige. Not a fan of nail color? Why not use nail decals for a quick nail makeover? But if you want to keep the nails polish-free, just buff ‘em up with a nail buffer to achieve a beautiful luster.
5. Try Pointy Shoes
We love our round toe Mary Janes and sneakers but there is something about a pair of pointy heels that makes any outfit look ten times better. Pointy heels make the legs appear longer and slimmer. We love wearing pointy heels with ripped blue jeans (skinny, please!), shift dresses, or a-line skirts!
