Both have their own body building potentials because creatine and glutamine are amino acids, the building blocks of protein. Creatine

Glutamine

Glutamine is the most abundant of all amino acids found in protein. Taking glutamine helps strengthen the immune system, promotes better digestion, and eliminates ammonia from the body. This amino acid also helps boost brain function and stamina during high-intensity workouts. When you work out for longer periods or when your body is under extreme stress, it might not produce enough glutamine. By taking glutamine supplements, you can perform intense resistance training and hasten muscle recovery.

Which Supplement Is Better for You?

Both creatine and glutamine sound like great supplements for building muscles. Can’t you take both to boost muscle building? Here’s the problem: most fitness experts do not recommend taking creatine and glutamine at the same time because these amino acids will try to compete with one another for absorption and cell transportation. Creatine and glutamine are transported to the cells by sodium. So by taking both, one will be absorbed more than the other.

Creatine and glutamine seem like they work the same way but the former is best for building muscles while the other is best for boosting the immune system although it could also help increase muscle mass.

If you can’t make up your mind and you want to take both supplements then we recommend working the timing when to take each supplement. You can take creatine an hour before and after working out to improve your chances of increasing muscle mass efficiently. Before working out, the muscles must have all the nutrients it needs to sustain strength during your workout. And after all the energy is depleted, it has to replenish its liquids. You can do that by taking creatine supplements.

Then, right before you go to bed, take glutamine. According to some researches, glutamine contains growth hormones that work best when a person is sleeping. You can also drink glutamine once you wake up to nourish your muscles too.  The muscles are like sponges that absorb nutrients right away. By feeding your muscles with glutamine, you give your muscle tissues the nutrients they need to grow as well as cut the recovery time in half.
