The skin around the eyes is the thinnest, most wrinkle-prone in the whole body. That’s why it’ll take more than hydration to keep the under eye area youthful and clear. A great treatment to reduce puffiness and boost hydration is an all-natural eye gel.

Eye gel is a refreshing, light and easy to absorb gel that moisturizes the skin and repairs damage cells. And good news, you don’t have to buy expensive eye gels to treat the under eye area. You can make one at home! In today’s post, we are giving eye gel recipes you can whip up at home:

Classic Cooling Cucumber and Aloe Vera Gel

Our all-time favorite eye gel recipe. This eye gel will hydrate the skin and eliminate puffiness.

Fresh aloe vera stems
¼ sliced organic cucumber
Sterilized small glass container with lid
Glass bowl
Sieve
Blender

Instructions

Chop the cucumber and put it in the blender to make a puree. Strain the puree in a glass bowl with a sieve. Slice the aloe vera stems horizontally. Get a spoon and scrape the gel. Mix the cucumber puree and fresh aloe vera gel in a clean bowl. Then, pour the mixture into a sterilized glass container. Give it a good stir one last time before securing the lid. Pop the bottle in the fridge overnight and apply on the under eyes the next day.

This eye gel has a shelf life of 3 days maximum.

Green Tea Eye Treatment

Perfect for tired, puffy under eyes! The Green Tea eye treatment is loaded with antioxidants that protect from free radical damage.

2 Green tea bags or green tea leaves
clean mugs
Ice cube tray

Instructions

Using two bags of green tea, make a few cups of strong tea. If you’re using green tea leaves, you have to strain the leaves right after steeping. Allow the tea to cool for an hour or more.

Pour the fluid into an ice cube tray. Pop the ice cube tray in the fridge and leave overnight to freeze. Once the fluid if fully frozen, pop them out and transfer the cubes into a Ziploc bag. Keep it in the freezer until you need it.

Just get two green tea ice cubes, close your eyes and slide them over the eyes. The ice cube will soothe and cool the skin while the green tea will reduce puffiness.

Cucumber and Vitamin E Eye Gel

Cucumber gently cools and hydrates the skin while vitamin E reverses the signs of aging. This nutrient-rich eye treatment neutralizes oxidative stress, protects from UV rays and reduces skin discoloration. Even better, the cucumber and vitamin E eye gel will repair damaged skin cells and increase collagen production!

Fresh aloe vera stems
¼ sliced organic cucumber
Sterilized small glass container with lid
Glass bowl
Sieve
Blender
Vitamin E soft gel capsule

Chop the cucumber and put it in the blender to make a puree. Strain the juice using a sieve. Then, slice the aloe vera gel horizontally. Scrape the gel and mix it with the cucumber juice in a clean bowl.

Pour the mixture into the sterilized glass container. Heat the glass in a microwave for no more than 5 seconds. Microwaving will help create a jelly-like consistency.

Puncture the vitamin E soft gel capsule and drain the liquid into the mixture. Give it a good mix and allow to cool for an hour. Seal the glass container with the lid and pop in the fridge overnight. Apply the mixture the next day on the under eyes. This eye gel has a shelf life of two weeks.
