There is nothing better than capping off a rough day with a trip to the spa. But let’s face it, not a lot of people can afford to go to the spa every week. The good news is, you don’t have to! These super easy, DIY spa treatments will turn your humble abode into a relaxing haven!

A Brightening Facial Mask

This DIY facial mask will clear zits, lighten dark spots, and reduce inflammation. It contains vitamin C and skin-friendly fruit acids that will slough off dead skin cells, brighten the complexion, and reduce breakouts.

You will need:

1 large lemon
1 ripe banana
3 strawberries

Wash the strawberries, remove the stems and chop roughly. In a clean bowl, mash the chopped strawberries together with the ripe banana to create a thick paste. Add a good squeeze of fresh lemon juice and mix well.

Apply a handful of the skin mask all over the face. Leave the facemask on for at least 15 minutes. Rinse with tepid water and follow up with your favorite facial serum for best results.

DIY Cuticle-Softening Treatment

This super simple manicure recipe will fade yellow stains on the nails while softening the cuticles. Nourishing cucumber and aloe vera gel reduce dryness and boost healing!

You will need:

1 lemon
½ of 1 cucumber
2 tablespoon fresh aloe vera gel

Slice the lemon and cucumber thinly on a cutting board. Get a bowl of warm water and add the sliced fruits. Stir in the aloe vera gel and mix very well. Soak your hands for at least 10 minutes in the solution. Then, pat the hands dry and push the cuticles gently using a cuticle pusher.

Exfoliating Food Scrub

This moisturizing foot scrub will soften the heels and exfoliate dead skin cells. It will leave your feet supple, soft, and free from cracked heels!

You will need:

2 tablespoons Epsom salt
3 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
5 tablespoon brown sugar

Start by making your own food scrub by mixing olive oil with brown sugar to create a loose paste. Set aside.

Pour warm water on a medium-sized basin. Stir in the Epsom salt and mix until the salt dissolves. Soak the feet for at least 10 minutes. After soaking the feet, pat dry and apply a small amount of the foot scrub all over the foot. In a gentle, circular motion, massage the foot scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells. Rinse with warm water and follow up with an emollient lotion.

Luxurious Body Soak

The lactic acid in milk will banish dark spots and fade unsightly scars. Manuka honey’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties will heal breakouts while boosting hydration.

You will need:

5 cups full cream milk or buttermilk
2 cups raw Manuka honey
20 drops of your favorite essential oil

Fill the bathtub with warm water (as hot as you can stand). Add at least 20 drops of your favorite essential oil. Now pour the honey and the cream milk. Using your hands mix the ingredients very well before stepping in the tub. Soak in the solution for 30 minutes then rinse yourself off in the shower.
