Hemorrhoids are vascular structures in the anal canal. Usually, the structures help pass the stool. But when the structures become inflamed or swollen, it leads to hemorrhoidal disease. The most common symptoms of hemorrhoids include painless rectal bleeding, skin irritation and swelling in the anus. There is no known cause of hemorrhoids, but some factors may increase the risk of developing this condition. These issues include dehydration, poor diet, and constipation. Pregnant women are also prone to hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids are very easy to treat. In today’s post, we are listing down essential oils that are proven to reduce symptoms of hemorrhoids.

Avocado Oil

Hemorrhoids are painful when the surrounding tissues dry out. When the surrounding tissues dry out, it could cause fissures and itchiness. That’s why it’s important to keep the anus hydrated when suffering from hemorrhoids. Avocado essential oil is emollient, nourishing and soothing. It works by being absorbed into the deep tissues and alleviating discomfort and pain. It minimizes dryness, pain, and itching. To use avocado oil as hemorrhoid treatment, get a clean basin of warm water. Add several tablespoon of avocado oil to the water and soak the affected area for at least 15 minutes. You can also apply the oil topically for instant relief.

Chamomile Oil

Just like avocado essential oil, chamomile oil soothes hemorrhoidal pains. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine or NCCAM, chamomile oil is a great treatment for hemorrhoids. It helps minimize pain, swelling and bring down irritation. Chamomile oil also hydrates the skin to prevent itchiness or painful fissures. You can add a quarter cup of chamomile oil to your bath soak or apply the oil topically to soothe hemorrhoids.

Evening Primrose Oil

When applied topically, the oil is instantly absorbed by the skin tissues. It eases swelling and irritation caused by hemorrhoidal disease.

Witch Hazel Oil

Witch hazel oil is used to treat skin inflammation. It’s a popular skin care ingredient thanks to its anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. This makes witch hazel oil an ideal remedy for hemorrhoids. Just a quarter cup of witch hazel oil in warm bath water relieves hemorrhoidal pains instantly. Treat yourself to a witch hazel-enriched bath several times per week to ease hemorrhoidal pain and prevent it from coming back.

Cypress Oil
