Talk to Your Doctor
Again, fatigue comes naturally with age. However, although fatigue is a common complaint, you want to rule out any health problem that could be causing an inexplicable dip in your energy level. You see, fatigue is a common symptom of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes, and thyroid problems. If you’ve been feeling unusually tired for longer than a week, talk to your doctor about it.
Regular Exercise
The last thing you want to do when you feel tired is to exercise. But you’d be surprised how effective a good workout is when it comes to energizing the body! Studies show that moderate to intense physical activity boosts energy. Regular exercise is also associated with improved vigor and better health! According to Kerry J. Stewart, a professor of medicine and director of clinical and research exercise physiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, exercising also provide a greater sense of self-confidence!

Proper Hydration
Dehydration is one of the most common causes of unexplained and sudden fatigue. Drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily helps keep the mind alert and focused. If you work out regularly, we recommend drinking more than 8 glasses of water every day.
Get Enough Zzzs
Do you catch yourself yawning incessantly even if your day barely began? Do you feel tired and exhausted during the mornings? Sounds like you are suffering from daytime fatigue. Daytime fatigue is often caused by lack of sleep. By getting enough zzz’s every night, you won’t feel as tired the next day.
Instead of staying up late, go to bed early. If you have trouble sleeping, make your bedroom as conducive to sleeping as possible. Do not spend hours using your mobile phone or tablet in bed. Keep your room dark and cool to promote sleep.
Studies show that getting enough sleep at night reduces daytime sleepiness significantly. A Stanford University study found that patients who were allowed to sleep for as long as they like reported more vigor during the day.
Take Daytime Naps
But if say, you really cannot sleep early at night, consider taking daytime naps! Napping helps reduce fatigue and promote wakefulness. It also boosts mental and physical performance. A 10-minute daytime nap is enough to boost energy levels. Just avoid napping for more than 30 minutes or you will have trouble sleeping early at night!
Lose Weight
People who are overweight tend to feel less energetic during the day. Losing excess weight and leading an active lifestyle helps energize the body and restore vigor. Losing weight also improves the quality of life and regulate mood! You don’t have to enroll to the local gym to lose weight either. Cutting back on processed foods and controlling your portions will do wonders for the waistline. Coupled with an hour of cardio, you will lose weight gradually.
