You don’t need to pile on 20 products to look flawless every day. The secret to looking flawless and fresh is to define specific facial features! And subtly is the key to looking effortlessly polished without trying too hard. In today’s post, we are listing down makeup tips and tricks to master your ten-minute everyday face!
Your Base: Smooth and Even
The secret to flawless makeup is a good base. You want to moisturize your face first with a day cream and let it sink in the skin. Follow up with your favorite sun block. Then, apply a thin layer of foundation or BB cream on the inner parts of the face. That includes the T-zone, the inner cheeks, etc. With a makeup brush, start buffing the product in and towards the outer parts of the face. You want the color to be concentrated on the inner parts of the face because this area is prone to discoloration, redness, and large pores. Blend the foundation on the neck too.
The key here is to avoid piling on too many products. Always make sure each layer is completely absorbed by the skin before adding another layer of product. This will prevent cakiness.
Once you’re done with the base, get your favorite color corrector and start concealing those blemishes. Apply a dot on every zit, blend, and then follow up with the right concealer. Using a clean ring finger, tap the concealer lightly on the blemish, focusing on blending the color seamlessly. Finally, with a big fluffy powder brush, sweep a thin layer of powder on areas of the face where you get oily. This will help set the foundation and boost the staying power of the base.
Your Makeup: Neutral and Polished
Groom the Brows
After the base is done, you can start adding color back to the face. Start by grooming the brows. With a brow brush, comb through the brows and start defining using your choice of brow tint: pencil, pomade, powder, or gels. Finish off with a brow gel to set the brows in place.
After the brows are nice and defined, move on to the eye shadows. Since this is an everyday makeup, you want to keep the colors neutral and light. Start contouring the base of the brow bone by sweeping a cooler brown shadow on the crease. Then, with a lighter taupe, pack it on the mobile lid. You can stop here and finish up with liner and mascara or deepen the corners of the lids with a darker brown before applying eyeliner and mascara.
With a gel liner or a pencil liner, tight line the eyes. This means applying eyeliner on the upper lids for fuller-looking lashes and softly defined eyes.
Blush and Highlighter
Finally, with a medium-sized blush brush, apply a pop of color on the cheeks. Smile and apply a soft coral blush on the apples of the cheeks if you are warm toned or a blue-based pink if you have cooler skin tone.
Sculpting and contouring the face can leave the overall look heavy so use a highlighter instead. With a fan brush, sweep the highlight powder on the highest points of the face: over the cheekbones, over the brows, the chin, cupid’s bow, the nose bridge and under the brow tails.
Lipstick and Lip Gloss
Finish up with a thin layer of your favorite nude or muted pink lipstick, blot then add another layer. Top off with gloss for fuller-looking lips.
