Starting on a low carbohydrates diet is easy as long as you know what combinations of food will optimize your weight loss potentials. In today’s post, we are sharing simple tips and tricks to help you create sumptuous but low carbohydrates food:

Cooking with Eggs

If you are on a low carbohydrates diet, make eggs your new best friend! Apart from being a versatile ingredient, eggs are tasty, low in calorie, and high in protein! And don’t think eggs are strictly breakfast food! You can get as creative as you like, whipping out delicious meals for lunch and dinners using eggs.

You can take eggs poached or boiled if you are watching your caloric intake. If you want a little fat, serve it scrambled with onions and sweet bell peppers. You can also make delicious sandwiches using eggs or add a dash of herbs to explore different flavors. Finally, you can also add egg yolks to your favorite smoothie for added nutritional punch!

Maximize Leftovers

Got lots of leftovers piling up in the fridge? Why not transform leftovers into yummy low carbohydrates meals and breathe life back to leftovers? We recommend keeping your meats and vegetables separate when you are cooking. Just serve them together once you are plating. Store the meats and vegetables separately in the fridge so the flavors do not mix. From there, you can mix the leftover meats or veggies with different sauces, seasonings, and herbs and it will be like eating a completely new meal again!

Go for Salads

Salads make an excellent meal on its own. It is filling, delicious, and it is packed with essential nutrients that do the body good. To make your greens even more palatable, always top it off with lean protein. If you have leftover steak from last night, you can dice up the meat and top it off your greens. You can also use salmon steaks, strips of chicken breasts, or roughly chopped seafood of your choice to add protein to your bowl of salads. Finish up with a healthy dressing and you have a filling, satisfying lunch or dinner salad!

Choose Healthy Substitutes

Sticking to a low carbohydrate diet isn’t as painful as it sounds as long as you replace unhealthy foods with healthy once. For instance, instead of purchasing processed foods for snacks, why not make your own snacks using high-quality ingredients? This alone will save you thousands worth of calories from sinful snacks from commercial cakes, chips, and cookies.

To make your salad healthier, replace mayo-based dressing with healthier dressings. Mayo based dressings may contain eggs, but they are incredibly high in unwanted calories. Go for vinaigrette or healthy plant oils instead. These sauces will add a zesty punch to your favorite greens, without the added calories.

If you love your pasta and rice, you can make your own healthy rice and pasta alternatives using cauliflower, zucchini, and squash! Just shred cauliflower, zucchini or squash and use it as a replacement to your favorite rice, pasta or couscous-based dishes. You can also use cauliflower to make hummus, pizza crust, and vegan mac n’ cheese!
