Cellulite refers to fat deposits that sit too closely under the skin. When it occurs, cellulite gives the skin surface a pimpled, cottage cheese-like appearance. Usually, cellulite appears on the thighs and buttocks. There are many reasons why cellulite develops. Usually, genetics, poor diet, and certain lifestyle choices increase the risk of developing cellulite. Although there is no cream on earth that can truly banish cellulite forever, these easy home remedies should help decrease the appearance of cellulite:
Dry Brushing
Dry brushing is traditionally done to keep the skin smooth and cellulite-free! Simply put, dry brushing is the cheapest, most effective way to keep the skin glowing and smooth.
As the name implies, this process requires a dry brush. The brush should be made from natural fibers with medium give. Brush cellulite-prone skin in a slow, circular motion every day. Start from the feet then work your way up to the legs and chest. On the stomach, brush counterclockwise. Do not brush too vigorously, it could irritate the skin. Do this before taking a bath every other day for best results.

Consume Healthy Oils
Did you know that beneficial fats – such as omega-3 fatty acid – help reduce the risk of cellulite? The wrong kind of fat can cause hormonal imbalance. This leaves the skin vulnerable to cellulite. Omega-3 fatty acids help keep the skin healthy, smooth and cellulite free. Together with fat-soluble vitamins, the hormones are restored to normal levels, leaving the skin smooth. You can get omega-3 fatty acids from any types of oily fish and seafood. You can also get your daily dose of omega-3 fatty acids by taking supplements.
Moisturize Daily
Dry skin is one of the main causes of skin problems, including cellulite. Moisturizing daily helps keep cellulite at bay. However, instead of using store-bought lotions, we recommend turning to all-natural moisturizers like coconut oil, argan oil, or olive oil. Just add several drops of the oil on dry skin and work it into the skin. Give yourself a mini massage as you rub the moisturizer to tone the skin. Do this every day to keep the skin healthy.
Apart from applying moisturizer daily, drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Your body needs to be hydrated to stay healthy. And when the body is healthy, the skin is at its best!
Exercise Regularly
Yes, exercising daily helps eliminate cellulite by flushing out toxins from the body. Exercising tones and smooths out the skin. It alleviates stress and gives the brain a rush of endorphins. When the body is purged of toxins, the skin is purified. All that moving and lifting also tones the skin, lengthening the muscles. The result? Your body’s overall appearance is more flattering!
Reduce Sodium Consumption
Avoid salty foods if you can. It helps if you swap table salt for Himalayan or Celtic sea salt. Too much sodium in the diet makes it hard for the body to expel waste fluids. So the waste fluids remain in the body, making you look bloated. The level of waste fluid in the body also adds to the accumulation of toxins that can harm the healthy.
Unlike table salt, Celtic sea or Himalayan sea salt are alkalinizing. They contain beneficial nutrients that rebalance the hormones, easing the risk of cellulite.
