How to Make Exercising Painless (and Fun!)

For some, exercising comes so naturally it becomes a habit. For others, finding the motivation to work out is hard enough, much more the will to stick to a fitness routine until the very end. Exercising doesn’t have to be a struggle. There are many ways to make exercising a habit and even tweak your routine so you can have more fun as you stay fit! In today’s post, we are listing down ways to make exercising as painless and fun as possible:

Incorporating Exercising in Activities You Enjoy

Love the outdoors? Why not take a Frisbee with you on your next trip and play a round of game with friends? Do you love meeting new people? Why not take a spinning class and meet new people while sculpting your body at the same time? Whatever activities you love to do, make it better by squeezing a little time working out. If say, you love catching up on your soaps during weekdays, why not do bits of lunges or squats once the commercial’s on? Adding exercising to all the activities you love makes working out less of a struggle.

Work Out with Friends

What’s better than working out regularly? Taking friends with you and staying trim together! Some people love exercising because of the social aspect of working out. From meeting friends to getting to know old ones, exercising is a great avenue to stay healthy while cultivating a meaningful relationship. So the next time you’re out on a run, consider asking a friend to run with you.

Focus on Habit, Not Results

Although results are important when you’re exercising, they’re not all that. Stop worrying about the results and focus on developing a healthy habit first. Don’t concentrate too much on the goal and focus on the system. Developing a fitness routine reduces the risk of missed workout due to lack of motivation! When you start making exercising a habit, then it’s only a matter of time before you start seeing results.

Exercise on Your Way to Work

If for some reason you can’t work out during the morning or after office hours, then squeeze in several minutes of your time working out on your way to work. Instead of taking the car or the bus, why not head to the office on a bike? Keep a jumping rope in handy so you can use it while waiting for the bus. Once you get to your office building, don’t take the elevator. Use the stairs instead!

Take Your Pets with You

Why exercise alone when you can take Fido with you and have fun working out? The next time you’re out for a jog, take your dog with you on a leash and run together. Or if you want to go out on a walk, go the nearby park and play fetch. Walking your dog twice per day can do wonders to your figure!

Start with Super Simple Exercise

One way to start a great fitness program is to start small. Complete moves that are so easy, you don’t need a lot of willpower to do all of them! Start with simple exercises that do not feel like exercises at all. For example, start your workout program with a 10-minute walk. Once the body gets used to the intensity of the exercise, you can adjust to 30 minutes and so on.
