How to Make Your Own Electrolyte Sports Drink

It seems most health buffs are not without their sports drinks. They’re good for you, right? Wrong! Commercial electrolyte sports drinks are nothing but fancy sugar water. These drinks contain a long list of refined ingredients including sugar, artificial sweeteners and compounds you can’t even pronounce.

Sports drinks are taken to restore the body’s electrolytes after working out. Unfortunately, most sports drinks are laden with fake ingredients and artificial sweeteners that they defeat the purpose of achieving a healthy body.

The good news is, you can make your own electrolyte sports drinks at home. In today’s post, we are giving you refreshing sports drinks recipes to try:

Orange and Lemon Sports Drink

Raw honey is a rich source of essential nutrients and digestible sugar. It also lowers stress hormone cortisol. Sea salt is loaded with electrolytes and important nutrients. Freshly squeezed citrus juices are loaded with vitamin C, plant-based enzymes, and natural sugars to energize the body!

3 to 4 cups of distilled water
¾ freshly squeezed orange juice
¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
¼ teaspoon Celtic sea salt
2 tablespoon organic, raw honey

Instructions

In a clean pitcher, mix all ingredients together. Adjust the taste according to your preference. Put the drink in the fridge. Serve cold and enjoy!

Lemon and Coconut Water Cooler

Coconut water is loaded with 13 times more potassium than Gatorade. It also contains more sodium than commercially produced sports drinks! Citrus fruits help speed muscle recovery and restore energy after a particularly grueling workout!

3 cups coconut water
1 cup distilled or mineral water
½ cup freshly squeezed lemon
¼ teaspoon Celtic sea salt or table salt
2 tablespoon organic, raw honey

Instructions

Mix all ingredients in a pitcher. Add more or less honey according to your preference. Store in the fridge and enjoy cold.

Strawberry and Coco Water Sports Drink

Strawberry is packed with vitamin C and antioxidants. It strengthens the immune system, protects from chronic diseases and it’s a delicious addition to any sports drink. Coconut water is regarded as “Nature’s Gatorade.” It contains electrolytes, repairs muscles and quenches thirst like no other!

3 cups of coconut water
1 cup strawberries
1 cup distilled or mineral water
1/8 teaspoon sea salt or table salt
2 tablespoon organic, raw honey

Instruction

Carefully slice the strawberries and set it aside. In a clean blender, mix all ingredients together. Add honey and adjust the taste according to your preference. Blend everything and place it in a pitcher. Store in the fridge. Serve with lots of ice cubes and enjoy!

Green Tea Cooler

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants catechins. Catechins protect from chronic diseases including cancer. Raw honey contains powerful antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. It prevents all types of infections. Mineral drops boost the nutritional value of your homemade sports drink!

Three green tea bags
4 cups hot water
2 to 3 tablespoons of raw, organic honey
¼ tablespoon Celtic sea salt
Two to four drops of Concentrace minerals drops

Instruction

Infuse the hot water with green tea. Leave the solution to steep for 15 to 20 minutes. Strain if needed. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Finish off by adding two drops of mineral drops. Place the pitcher in the fridge, serve very cold.
