Don’t drink sweet drinks.

This is a small change that can have a big impact. Instead of reaching for a soft drink or a sugary coffee drink, substitute iced tea sweetened with a calorie free, natural sweetener such as Stevia. Give yourself some variety by trying green teas, white teas, and herbal teas rather than sticking with straight black tea. As a treat, have a sugar-free cappuccino when a sugar craving hits.

Give yourself time.

It takes time to stop sugar addiction. By not indulging your desire to eat something sweet, the cravings will gradually subside, although it might take a week or two. Be prepared to stick it out. It’ll be worth it in the long run.

With a little planning and preparation, you can stop sugar addiction. The happy result will be a higher energy level and the achievement of a healthier weight.
