Did you know that some of your favorite alcoholic drinks pack a lot of calories? In fact, the popular Cosmopolitan contains about 200 calories per 4 ounces!  If you don’t want your diet to cramp your style on a Saturday night with the girls, consider ordering these low-calorie alcoholic drinks instead:

Bacardi and Diet Coke

Bacardi is not only a popular diet-friendly spirit; it goes well with other beverages too. To cut back on the calories, order a blend of Bacardi and Diet Coke on ice. It’s only 58 calories; this is a great thirst quencher and a perfect drink for parties.

Rum and (Diet) Coke

When it comes to low-calorie drinks, nothing beats a classic! Update your favorite rum and Coke drink by substituting Diet Coke for the regular one. This cuts the calories in half! You can also mix things up by using spiced rum to give your drink a kick!

Tequila and Lime

Craving for margaritas but you’re stuck counting calories? Why not pick tequila over ice and add two limes for a zesty, refreshing drink? This drink only clocks in at 100 calories. If tequila is too strong for your liking, you can add club soda and extra lime to dilute your drink. You can also substitute vodka for tequila and the calories will remain low!

Light Beers

Beer is notorious for being one of the most calorific alcohol beverages available. So make sure you watch out what kind of beer you’re ordering next time you are out with the boys. If you’re the beer and chips kinda guy, opt for light beers as opposed to regular beer. Most light beers are only about 105 calories each.

Red and White Wine

Red and white wine are the perfect alcoholic drinks for dieters because they contain only about 120 to 125 calories per serving. Of course, it’s important to watch how much wine you drink in one sitting, it’s easy to lose track when you’re having fun!

Mojito

Traditionally, mixed mojitos are very high in calories but only because this drink contains a lot of simple syrup. You can request to have the simple syrup cut in half or nixed altogether for a low-calorie drink. Mint, lime, and soda water are all low in calorie and a shot of rum is only about 100 calories.

Sea Breeze

If your alcohol drink of choice is vodka-cranberry, we recommend giving sea breeze a try. It packs fewer calories. Just combine around 4 oz. of grapefruit juice with 1½ oz. of cranberry juice, add 1 oz. of vodka, give it a good shake and enjoy. The sea breeze drink packs a mere 180 calories, so much less than your favorite vodka-cranberry drink.

Champagne

Surprisingly, champagne is actually pretty low in calories. A 4-oz. glass of champagne contains only 85 calories, which is about 15 calories less of a 12 oz. bottle of light beer! An average glass of wine packs at least twice the amount of calories as a 4-oz. glass of champagne!
