6. Chocolate

Speaking of something sweet, chocolates are also a no-no for people with IBS. Chocolates especially dark ones may only cause discomfort. So make sure to avoid eating too much.

7. Beans

Beans can cause gas, bloating, cramping and diarrhea to those who have IBS. It’s best to avoid them by all means.

8. Garlic and Onions

Although garlic and onions are two main ingredients that makes food delicious, it may irritate your stomach. In case you need to eat garlic and onions, make sure that you add herbs and simple sauce to it so it won’t trigger your IBS.

9. Carbonated, Caffeinated, and Alcoholic Beverages

Since they are carbonated and caffeinated, it’s best to avoid drinking too many alcoholic or carbonated beverages. The acid in these drinks may only lead to spasms in your stomach. Drinking coffee, teas and soda may also do the same.

Eating these foods may be the reason why your IBS is getting worse. So either you drop the habit of eating too many of these or reduce your intake if you don’t want to suffer from IBS often. It’s all about discipline in the end, the choice is yours.
