In between work and family responsibilities, it’s hard to squeeze an extra hour for exercise. But making little changes in your home-work routine could help you lose weight! In fact, there are plenty of ways to lose weight even if you have a tight schedule. In today’s post, we are dishing out practical ways to adopt a healthy lifestyle for maximum weight loss:
Exercise in the Morning
You can’t expect a fit body if you don’t work out at least half an hour every day. You can get as creative when it comes to squeezing several minutes of your time exercising. For instance, if the rest of your day gets crazy, work out in the morning. Instead of using the elevator, use the stairs. Skip rope while waiting for the bus. You can even do bits of exercises while you’re stuck in your desk! It’ll hard to incorporate exercise into your everyday routine but once you start out, it’ll be easier.
You don’t have to count calories to lose weight but always keep track of the food you eat. The best way to do this is to control your portions. You want to keep your portions conservative so you don’t overeat. And always fill your plate with low-calorie, nutrient-dense foods like fruits, lean protein, and veggies! These foods will keep you fuller for longer so you don’t overeat later in the day.
Pack Your Meals
It’s tempting to head to the nearest fast food joint to grab a bite but don’t. An average burger contains 300 calories and all these calories will end up in your belly. Instead of going all-out during lunch time, why not pack your meals instead? You get to choose the kinds of wholesome ingredients you want in a delicious meal. Prepping your own meals also gives you more control over your calorie consumption. Best of all, you feel satiated without the unwanted calories and saturated fats!
Keep Healthy Snacks in Your Desk
A great tip to overcome afternoon crashes is to keep healthy snacks in your desk. So when you feel hungry, you can grab a bite to eat without overindulging. Roasted nuts, celery sticks, kale chips and dried fruits make the perfect on the go snacks. Roasted seeds, a jar of peanut butter or yogurt are great afternoon snacks as well. If you are craving something sweet, go for low-calorie granola bars, fresh fruits oatmeal cookies or dark chocolates.
Avoid Calorific Drinks
It’s no secret that designer coffee or frappes are loaded with calories. They also contain copious amounts of sugars and fat from whipped cream! The same thing can be said for sodas, fruit-flavored drinks and smoothies! Don’t drink the calories, stick to water. Water is the best way to hydrate the body and it contains zero calories. Some types of after-office drinks like cocktails are high in calories. If you must drink alcohol to unwind, go for hard liquor, not beer. And any flavorings mixed with hard liquor will increase its calorie content.
