A good breakfast smoothie should provide all the nutrients you need for the day without the unwanted calories. Forget about store-bought smoothies. These drinks are loaded with sweeteners, preservatives and fattening ingredients. In today’s post, we are listing down delicious, refreshing slimming smoothies you can prepare during the AM:

1. Mango and Avocado Smoothie

¼ cup mango, cut into cubes
¼ cup ripe avocado, mashed
½ mango juice
½ fat-free vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon sugar
4 ice cubes

Instructions

In a blender, combine all ingredients and process until smooth. Pour the smoothie in a tall glass, add slices of mangoes and enjoy!

2. Classic Blueberry Smoothie

1 cup skim milk
1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
1 tablespoon cold-press organic flaxseed oil
Organic honey to taste

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a blender except the flaxseed oil then process for one minute. Transfer the mixture in a tall glass, mix in the flaxseed oil and serve.

3. Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie

½ cup fat-free or low-fat milk
½ cup fat-free or low-fat plain yogurt
2 tablespoon unsalted, natural peanut butter
½ ripe banana
1 teaspoon organic honey
5 ice cubes.

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend for a minute or until smooth. Transfer the mixture to a tall glass and garnish with sliced bananas. Serve and enjoy!

4. Vanilla Yogurt and Blueberry Smoothie

1 cup soy milk
6oz. plain or vanilla yogurt
1 cup fresh blueberries
4 ice cubes
1 tablespoon organic, cold-pressed flaxseed oil

Instruction

In a blender, mix soy milk, yogurt, and fresh blueberries. Add the ice and blend for one minute. Transfer the mixture to a tall glass and add the flaxseed oil. Stir very well then serve. TIP: You can substitute soy milk with fat-free milk or almond milk.

5. Banana and Kale Smoothie

1 frozen banana
1 cup of kale
1 tablespoon spirulina
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 ½ cup unsweetened soy or almond milk
1 cup ice

Instruction

Combine all ingredients and process for a minute until smooth. You can also add a teaspoon of organic honey or agave nectar to taste.

6. Avocado and Chocolate Smoothie

1 cup ripe avocado, mashed
1 tablespoon dark, unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon agave nectar
½ cup frozen banana
1 cup ice
1 cup unsweetened almond or soy milk

Instruction

Mix all ingredients in a blender and blend for a minute. Once smooth and creamy, transfer to a tall glass. Add several slices of banana to garnish and enjoy.

7. Mango Banana Smoothie

½ cup mango, cut into cubes
¼ frozen banana
4 ice cubes
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup coconut milk
½ tablespoon whey protein powder

Instruction

Mix all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. You can use soy milk or fat-free milk as a substitute to almond milk. You can also add a teaspoon of agave nectar to sweeten the drink.

8. Banana and Spinach Smoothie

1 cup fresh spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
½ tablespoon whey protein powder

Instruction

Combine all ingredients in a blender and process for one minute. Then, transfer to a tall glass. Serve and enjoy!
