Jojoba oil is an essential oil derived from the seeds of the Jojoba shrub. In its natural state, jojoba oil is a clear, golden fluid with a slightly nutty odor.  This oil is a favorite by some of the most prominent skin care brands for good reasons. Prized for its amazing healing benefits, jojoba oil is used to keep the skin, hair and nails healthy. It’s naturally non-toxic and contains powerful anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory agents too. If you’re wondering what beauty benefits you can get from jojoba oil, check out our list below:

Repair Extremely Damaged Hair

If your hair is extremely dry, damaged or frizzy, jojoba oil will restore shine and re-balance the moisture level in the hair and scalp. It works by deeply nourishing parched hair, improving texture and appearance. It will detangle, deep condition and hydrate the hair from the roots. And because it’s non-toxic, jojoba oil is ideal even for those with sensitive scalp.

To use jojoba oil to bring life back to frizzy, damaged hair, add several drops on clean palm. Then, rub the palms together vigorously to warm up the oil before applying directly on the hair and scalp. Give yourself a mini-massage to let the scalp absorb the oil. Leave the oil on for at least 15 minutes before rinsing with shampoo and tepid water.

Boost Hair Growth

Although hair thinning is caused by age, this condition is sometimes triggered by extra sebum production. Extra sebum blocks hair follicles, inhibiting growth.

If you’re dealing with thinning hair, massage jojoba oil on problematic areas of the scalp! The oil promotes hair re-growth by re-balancing sebum production in the scalp. The oil will melt the sebum and stimulate the regeneration of hair cells.

Skin Moisturizer

Keep the skin soft, silky and smooth with just a few drops of jojoba oil every day. Just like most plant-based oils, jojoba oil is an excellent skin moisturizer. It can be used morning and night to keep the skin supple and youthful looking. The oil hydrates the skin from within, eliminating dry or rough spots. Jojoba oil also contains antibacterial and antiviral properties. It minimizes inflammation and breakouts. Just apply three to four drops of jojoba oil on a freshly cleansed face before retiring to bed. In the morning, you’ll wake up to amazingly soft, glowing skin!

Heals Acne Scars and Prevents Breakouts

Certain types of anti-acne products contain animal fat. Animal fat irritates the skin, causing breakouts. Plant-based oils like jojoba oil are non-irritating and mild. The oil has the ability to kill bacteria on contact. It heals old acne scars and prevents newer ones from forming. Jojoba oil even reduces the risk of acne breakout.

Prevent Stretch Marks

Jojoba oil is traditionally used to minimize the appearance of stretch marks. While there is no oil or cream that can truly erase stretch marks, jojoba oil refines the skin texture. It hydrates the skin deeply and repairs damaged cells. All these skin-friendly benefits make stretchmark less obvious. Jojoba oil is also rich in vitamin E, a nutrient that plumps up the skin and fades scars.
