Today’s lifestyle either too fast or too hectic; we seldom forget to slow down and reflect on where we are and how our health is responding to our daily routine. If you are wondering what’s holding you down then perhaps it’s time to know what you are doing wrong and do something about it.

People say “Health is wealth” but most of us are not really aware of the unhealthy practices we do every day. So if you think there’s something that you are not doing right, check out this article.

  1. We lack physical activities – working is a physical activity but it is not the same when we say we are taking a run or going to the gym. House chores are different too so don’t think you are practicing a healthy lifestyle from just working or doing chores. Keep in mind that there when we do physical activities, our muscles, bones, joints, ligaments and other important parts of our body are also working together. Lack of physical activities can be lethal; it slows down our metabolism and heart rate. So if you are someone who likes to do nothing, you have been warned.
  2. We don’t eat the right diet – most of the time we find ourselves tired and hungry. When these two combine, we often find ways to easily do something about it and most of the time; the option we take is not really a healthy choice. Fast food and junk foods are two things we love to eat. Although they can easily fill us, we don’t know what ingredients are used to make them. We don’t even know if they are being cooked properly or if the ingredients used are fresh and organic. Instead of choosing to eat a balanced diet, we often find the easy way out. What we don’t know is that the easy way out is always the easiest way to our downfall.
  3. We have too much vices – besides eating junk, we love our unhealthy vices. We smoke a lot and drink a lot. Although there are many public services regarding smoking and drinking alcohol, we still choose to do them anyway. The lack of self-discipline and the “need” to do these vices often puts us in a situation that we regret soon. Worse, it usually results to diseases and conditions that we dread of.
  4. We do what we want without setting limits – it is a fact that people these days eat what they want, whenever they want and however they want it. We also love to do things that are risky (although there’s nothing wrong with that) but lack the initiative to put limits. We party a lot, stay up late a lot and so on. However, the things that we think are okay are not always favorable especially when we don’t set limits to ourselves. Of course, we all have the freedom to do whatever we want in our lives but if you don’t put limit to what you do then that’s like diving into the abyss. Remember that too much of everything is not always a good thing.

If you feel like you are not improving well as a person then perhaps you suffer from the things I have mentioned. If you are on the wrong diet, change it; eat well and healthy, do exercises! Keep in mind that there’s always room for change and it’s not always too late. You can get out of that hole, all it takes is perseverance and determination. Besides, change is always good.
